simple website

A simple website

Keeping things simple is hard. It’s easy to get caught up in the next shiny thing. But how does that next shiny thing help build your brand, make your work flow better, and ultimately serve your ideal client? Don’t get me wrong, you have access to thousands of tools to run your business. The problem is, how do you choose?

When it came to my website, I purposely chose the simplest solution. Websites can be incredibly expensive, demand large amounts of time to maintain, and be an almost constant source of frustration when things don’t go as planned. I’ve had a custom website and I’ve hired people to help with bits that I was stuck on. For my latest website, I chose to keep it simple and do everything myself because I want to focus on creating content, not building and maintaining a website. In the video below, I take you on a walk-through of my website and share with you the theme and plugins I chose to use and why. After the video, I’ll share the names of the plugins I use so you can check them out for yourself.

Here is the list of what I used to build my WordPress.org site via a hosting provider:

Twenty Twelve WordPress.org theme

Mailchimp for WordPress by ibericode

Responsive Pricing Table by WP Darko

Social Media & Share Icons/Ultimate Social Media by Ultimately Social

Easy Forms for Mailchimp by Yikes, Inc.

Acuity Scheduling

UpDraftPlus (backup)

Yoast seo

What is the right choice for your website? The one that tells the story of your brand and serves your ideal client. That’s it. So take a deep breath, take a step back, and take a fresh look at your website.
