My life plan never included becoming a business coach. I was content working for someone else for the rest of my life. Then the crash of 2009 happened, and I was out of a job. To support myself I answered ads of small businesses looking for bookkeeping help. The more businesses I helped, the more I noticed that they weren’t living up to their potential.

Business owners know their business. Some don’t know how to run it.

 

You started a business to make money doing something you’re passionate about. You didn’t start it to get caught up in the minutia of workflow and bookkeeping. Yet that stuff can take a good portion of your time. It can take you away from doing what you love. So when it comes to that kind of stuff you either procrastinate doing it, or hire someone like your mom or another relative. 

Neither way is doing your business any favors.
